Host family & friends
Request an attestation d’accueil at your town hall and send it to your visitor.
Before the visitor’s visa request
- Host identity/residence evidence
- Housing, address and resource evidence
- Visitor passport details and trip dates
- Tax stamp and travel insurance details
1. Check whether it is needed
It is required for many short private or family visits by non-European visitors. Check exemptions first.
2. Contact the town hall
Ask the mairie where the visitor will stay about appointments and evidence. Housing suitability and hosting resources are checked.
3. The host applies
The host signs the form at the town hall and provides evidence. Check the current tax-stamp amount officially.
4. Send the approved original
After town-hall approval, send the original to the visitor for their visa application or border checks.
- An invitation does not guarantee a visa; the visitor’s insurance and other evidence are assessed separately.
