Student health insurance

Register with Ameli, follow your affiliation and get your Carte Vitale.

After arrival & enrolment

• Passport and the required residence document
• Final university enrolment certificate
• Birth record and required translation
• French address and bank details (RIB)

1. Check your registration route

Eligible international students register at etudiant-etranger.ameli.fr. A valid EHIC, S1 or a bilateral agreement can change the route.

2. Complete your file

Upload the requested evidence and respond to missing-document messages. Follow CPAM’s translation requirements.

3. Keep your affiliation certificate

Your first number may be temporary. Download the affiliation certificate and follow the file until your permanent number is certified.

4. Set up your reimbursements

When eligible, create your Ameli account, request the Carte Vitale, check your RIB and declare a treating doctor. Keep care receipts.
