Yvelines

Yvelines department is located west of Paris, in the Ile-de-France region, and its capital is the town of Versailles, whose famous royal palace is one of the most magnificent buildings in the world and the main tourist destination near Paris. The department combines wealthy Parisian suburbs, vast forests and agricultural plains. Its economy combines services, the automotive industry (Renault in Guyancourt) and historical tourism. The cost of living in Yvelines, especially in areas close to Paris, is high, but the quality of life, abundant green spaces and direct train access to Paris make it attractive.
