Hauts de Seine
The Hauts-de-Seine department is located west of Paris, in the Île-de-France region, with its capital in Nanterre. This small but densely populated department is home to the famous La Défense business district, Europe's largest business hub, and is France's wealthiest department in terms of per-capita income. Its economy is heavily based on financial services, headquarters of major multinational companies, and luxury industries. The cost of living, particularly in areas such as Neuilly-sur-Seine and Boulogne-Billancourt, is among the highest in France, but metro and RER access to central Paris is very fast.

Neighborhoods vary greatly: Boulogne and many western parts of the department are very safe and expensive, La Défense and its surroundings have a business and office atmosphere, and some northeastern parts of the department (near Seine-Saint-Denis) are cheaper and busier.
Several metro lines, RER lines (A, B, C), trams and Transilien trains connect Hauts-de-Seine to Paris and the other suburbs.
