Eure

Eure department is located in northern France, in the Normandy region, between Paris and Rouen, and its capital is the city of Évreux. The department is known for its historic gardens (Claude Monet's garden in Giverny) and lush river valleys, and its economy combines agriculture, small industries, and part of the wider Paris commuter belt. Eure's landscape includes farmland, oak forests, and chalk cliffs along the Seine. The cost of living in the department is lower than in Paris, while some of its eastern areas are used as distant suburbs for daily commuting to Paris.

Évreux, Vernon, Louviers

Évreux is a mid-sized and relatively calm city. Residential neighborhoods generally have a family-friendly atmosphere, and around the city center and the train station, as everywhere, you should keep an eye on your belongings. Overall, it can be considered acceptable for student or family life, but before choosing a neighborhood, be sure to check locals' opinions and sites such as ville-ideale.fr.

The city of Évreux has a major train station on the Paris–Normandy line and is connected by TER trains to Paris-Saint-Lazare. Within the city and its suburbs, a local bus network (Transurbain and regional lines) is also active.
