Côte-d'Or

Côte-d'Or department is located in eastern France, in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region, and its capital is the historic city of Dijon. The department is the heart of the Burgundy wine region, and its vineyard hillsides (Côte de Nuits and Côte de Beaune) are among the most prestigious wine-producing areas in the world and are listed as UNESCO World Heritage sites. Its economy combines wine production, agriculture, the food industry, and urban services in Dijon. Dijon is known as a university city with a high quality of life, and its cost of living is moderate and lower than Paris's, while being less than two hours from Paris by fast train.

Dijon, Beaune, Chenôve

According to residents' opinions, Dijon is generally an acceptable city to live in, but in some neighborhoods (such as Grésilles and Chenôve) there are reports of an increase in petty crime and public nuisance. The city center and student areas are lively and busy during the day, but for nighttime travel (especially around the train station and outlying neighborhoods) it is best to take at least the usual precautions.

In Dijon, the DiviaMobilités public transport network includes trams (two main lines) and city buses. Most urban and university areas are covered by tram and bus, making it easy to get around without a car.
