Paris
Paris is the capital of France and the smallest but most densely populated department in the country, being at once a department and a single municipality. The city is France's political, economic, cultural and scientific center and one of the world's leading metropolises, hosting the headquarters of many major companies, universities, museums and international institutions. Paris's economy is diverse, including finance, fashion, tourism, technology and services. The cost of living in Paris is much higher than the French average, but its access to public transport, concentration of universities and job opportunities are unmatched, and it remains the primary destination for many international students and immigrants, including Iranians.
Paris
- Université Paris Cité, Sorbonne Université, PSL, Paris 1–8… - Dozens of universities and grandes écoles; Paris is one of the most university-dense cities in Europe.
Paris is a large city with both very safe neighborhoods and neighborhoods with more issues (especially certain areas around stations). In touristy areas, you should watch out for pickpockets, scams and crowds. On the other hand, access to healthcare, cultural services and transport is excellent.
The Ile-de-France transport system (RATP + SNCF) includes metro, RER, tram, bus and regional trains, and is one of the best networks in Europe. It is entirely possible to live without a car.
