Oise
Oise is located in the north of France, in the Hauts-de-France region, near Paris, with Beauvais as its capital. The department is known for the royal Château de Chantilly and the vast Compiègne forests, the site where two historic World War treaties were signed. Its economy combines agriculture, logistics industries, and Paris suburban life, since the southern part of Oise is effectively part of the greater Paris metropolitan area. The cost of living in Oise is lower than in Paris, and it is about thirty minutes to an hour from the capital by train, making it a popular option for daily commuting.

The towns of Oise combine very calm areas with some busier working-class suburbs. Compiègne and Beauvais are common choices for students, and with the right neighborhood, quality of life is acceptable.
TER trains and Transilien lines connect the towns of Oise to Paris and Amiens. Beauvais-Tillé Airport is also used for low-cost European flights. Urban/suburban bus networks operate within the towns.
